“...but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 3:13–14
Fellow Parishioners,
Our Stewardship theme this year—Rooted in Faith, Growing in Hope—calls us to do exactly that. We are deeply rooted in the love of Christ and in our care for one another. To strain forward means choosing to invest in our future before we see all the answers. Our pledges are an offering of faith—the soil and water that nurture this ground, ensuring that as we prepare for our next rector, we stand ready to grow: a parish drawn together by our journey, eager, healthy, and leaning into God’s promise.
Through all the many changes we’ve faced, your generosity has kept this church alive, active, and caring. Through your gifts this past year:
Worship & Music Flourished: We gathered every Sunday for inspiring liturgy and sacred music that fed our spirits. Importantly, the Organ Restoration Fund is on target to reach its $150,000 goal and is now “reliably playable” and sounds fantastic.
Outreach Served Our Neighbors: Last year parishioners and friends raised over $10,000 to provide Thanksgiving dinner gift cards for WATCH families in Waltham. We continue to support programs such as Lovelane, Diaper Depot, Dignity Matters, Afghan Refugees living in NH, B-Safe (part of St. Stephen’s Church in Roxbury), and Latinos in Acción de Waltham for our annual Christmas Toy Drive.
Our Sacred Space Was Cared For: We maintained our church home as a warm, welcoming sanctuary. We continue to offer weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in our parish hall and hosted a few diocesan events this past year. Beacon Montessori Nursery School uses our first-floor classroom spaces throughout the week as well.
Pastoral Care Continued Unbroken: We supported one another through births, baptisms, illnesses, and memorials, walking together through life’s joys and trials.
To sustain our parish, foster our growth, and inspire the hope of our ministries, we need every household's participation. Please prayerfully consider your pledge for the coming year. You can pledge by returning the enclosed card by mail or in the Sunday offering plate, online at stpetersweston.org, or by scanning the QR code on the card.
Please submit all pledges by Sunday, November 8th, so our vestry can budget for the year ahead. Thank you for your steadfast love and generosity.
