Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When are Services?

A: During the Program Year (September to May), the services are as follows:

8:00 AM Sunday Holy Eucharist in the Chapel (same entry as church).

10:00 AM Sunday Holy Eucharist in the Church.

During the Summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend) there is only one service:

Easter and Christmas service times are offered on a special schedule; please see information on the website home page.

Q: What is Coffee Hour?

A: Coffee Hour is a time of fellowship following our Sunday 10:00 AM service. It’s a relaxed opportunity to connect, meet new people, and enjoy light refreshments together.

In addition to weekly Coffee Hour, we gather regularly in the Parish Hall for:

  • First Sunday Breakfast - A shared breakfast on the first Sunday of the month from 9am - 10am.

  • Women’s Potluck - A casual evening of food and fellowship for women of the parish.

  • Men’s Potluck - a time for the men of St. Peter’s to gather and share a meal together.

Q: How long are services?

A: The 8:00 AM service of Holy Eucharist lasts approximately 40 minutes. The 10:00 AM service of Holy Eucharist lasts approximately 1 hour as it includes our talented organist and choir.

Q: What is the “BCP” and the “Hymnal”?

A: The worship service uses texts from the Book of Common Prayer (BCP) of the Episcopal Church and hymns found in the Hymnal. Both books may be found in the pew racks. The worship bulletin for the 8:00 AM service includes an order of service and will direct you to the correct page in the BCP. A full text bulletin is available for the 10:00 AM service. Hymns are indicated by hymn number (not page number) and are posted on the hymn boards in the front of the church and in the bulletin. All are welcome to take full part in our worship regardless of denomination.

Q: This is my first visit - where do I go?

A: There is ample parking around St. Peter’s. The main entrance is located at the front of the building. Greeters are typically nearby on Sunday mornings. Once inside, the sanctuary is straight ahead. Ushers can help you find a seat if you’d like assistance.

If you park in the rear of the building, an entrance is available directly into the Parish Hall. Walk through the Hall and up the stairs.

Restrooms are located at the end of the hallways on the lower level and the church level.

The parish office, clergy offices, and the Bidwell Room library are on the same level as the church. The third floor includes church school meeting space and the music room.

Q: Is there an elevator?

A: Yes. If you park in the rear of the building, enter the Parish Hall and take a right past the kitchen. If you park in the front of the building, follow the walkway on the right of the front steps and enter the sanctuary through the Chapel.
