Outreach Committee at St Peters

Matthew 25:40

"And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of
the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.'"

We strive to respond to our baptismal vows: “to seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves.”

Outreach Committee Mission Statement
"Using God’s gifts of time, talent and treasure, we seek to understand and respond to regional, national and global needs outside our parish. We support organizations which empower and maintain the personal dignity of those in need, and which personally involve our parishioners where possible."

On behalf of St. Peter's Church, the Outreach Committee strives to respond to our Baptismal vows: 'to seek and to serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves' and 'to strive for justice and peace, respecting the dignity of every human being.' as we minister to "the least of these".

Criteria for Grant Requests
We will consider programs that are religious and/or secular. In order to be supported, a proposed project/organization should meet most of the following criteria:
The program addresses causes, focusing on empowerment.
The program is committed to racial and cultural diversity.
The program is committed to meeting the needs of the disadvantaged: economically, physically, or emotionally.
St. Peter’s contribution will have an important impact on the program.
The program provides opportunity for participation by parishioners of St. Peter’s in a variety of ways: e.g. personal service, serving on committees, or educational experiences.

Sharing our Time and Talent
The Outreach Committee offers opportunities for St. Peter's parishioners to participate with ongoing organizations in ministering with and on behalf of poor, oppressed, and suffering people. Most of the opportunities come from working with organizations St. Peter's also supports financially. Contact people can tell you what you can do through the organization they represent.
