Stewardship Campaign for 2010

Reinforcing our Foundation

"...I laid a foundation, and another is building on it..."
1 Corinthians 3:10
1 Corinthians 3:10
Each year at this time we join together as a parish family to financially support our church and its many ministries. In the next few weeks you will receive our annual appeal in the mail, hear from parishioners in church, and receive a call from a church member asking for your support. The Stewardship Campaign for 2010 officially kicked off Sunday, October 18 and will close November 22 with a parish-wide dinner of thanksgiving. Our goal is to get all those who call St. Peter's their home church to pledge their financial support so that we may continue the rich tradition of worship, fellowship and service.
Please join us as we pledge our financial resources in support of our spiritual home which has offered over 145 years of Episcopal worship in Weston, as we celebrate 50 years in our current church building.

St. Peter's Episcopal ChurchCelebrating 50 Years
in Our Parish Home
As St. Peter's celebrates 50 years in our current church building and over 145 years of Episcopal worship in Weston, the Stewardship Campaign for 2010 is an appropriate time to joyfully acknowledge the works of our past and reflect on our future. Whether it is youth or adult education, outreach, worship or music, our ability to carry out the work that God is calling us to do is dependent on our financial resources. And while the past few years have been inspirational in our parishioners' gifts of time and talent, we must now match that level of giving with our financial commitments. The gifts of those before us form the bedrock of our past and present. It is our turn to reinforce this foundation.

St. Peter's Stewardship Campaign for 2010

While a pledge is as personal as a prayer, your returned pledge card is an acknowledgement that you have made a considered and prayerful decision as to how you will use your gifts.
October 18 to November 20.
St. Peter's needs to receive your financial commitment during this time so the Vestry can budget appropriately for the following year.
You will be called on Tuesday, October 27.
Parishioners will be calling from 6:00-9:00 p.m. to secure your pledge or to schedule a time to meet with you to discuss your stewardship plans for the year ahead.
Pledging is easy.
You will find pledge cards in the pews, Parish Hall and in the narthex. You may also pledge by clicking here for a pledge card.
Your gift will be acknowledged.
We will include your name in the Stewardship Campaign for 2010 unless specifically instructed to do otherwise.
We will celebrate our successful campaign.
On November 22nd at 6:00 p.m., we will gather as a church family for a dinner of thanksgiving and fellowship.
Our Future and Some Statistics
- St. Peter's requires over $500,000 of funding annually.
- Last year 75% of our operating budget was funded from gifts during our Stewardship Campaign.
- Non-pledge gifts fund less than 15% of our ministry.
- In 2009, 139 families and individuals pledged and carried the majority of the fiscal weight of this church.
- In 2009 we fell $50,000 short of our initial pledge goal.
- We are bridging this year's budget gap by drawing on reserves. This is not sustainable.
- Our Assistant Rector is being funded by generous contributions that run only through mid-2011.
