Links of Interest

As an Episcopal parish, St. Peter's is part of its own "world wide web" - the Anglican Communion - which includes the Episcopal Church of the United States as well as churches in more than 160 other countries around the globe. Located on every continent, Anglicans speak many languages and come from different races and cultures. Although the churches are autonomous, they are uniquely unified through their history, their theology, their worship and their relationship to the ancient See of Canterbury.

The rich tapestry that makes up the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican Communion is well represented on the Internet. We have included on this page links to just a few of the sites that may be of interest to current members of St. Peter's and to those who are interested in finding out more about the Episcopal Church.

The Book of Common Prayer

Worship is at the very heart of the Episcopal Church, and its great uniting text is The Book of Common Prayer. In its various revisions and translations, The Book of Common Prayer is used throughout the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Originally written more than 450 years ago, and updated from time to time over the years, The Book of Common Prayer is loved for its beautiful language and is truly one of the greatest treasures of the Episcopal Church. A fascinating website about The Book of Common Prayer may be visited at [http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/bcp.htm]. This site contains the text of the various revisions going back to 1549 as well as the many versions currently in use around the world.
